Modernized ATS targeting framework has become operational. CBP states that the modernized Automated Targeting System (ATS) targeting framework passed an operational readiness review in October 2006 and it is now in use at the National Targeting Center (NTC).
CBP notes establishing this foundation for advanced targeting analysis involved a build out of a prototype used at the NTC, and provides a platform from which new data analysis tools and techniques are available to authorized CBP users. The upgraded ATS targeting framework is capable of integrating international cargo and passenger targeting capabilities and modernizes the core workflow of the NTC.
(See ITT's Online Archives or 10/20/06 news, 06102010 for BP summary of Oct 2006 Modernization Monitor newsletter stating that this upgrade passed a test readiness review in August 2006. Also, note that CBP's 102 draft proposal (strawman) would comply with the SAFE Port Act provision to enhance the capability of ATS.)
