2. 216 C-TPAT Participants Achieved "Tier 3" Status as of Nov. 2006
American Shipper reports that, as of November 2006, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) verified "Tier 3" status for 216 Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) participants, basically meaning that these participants' security systems had been verified as being above and beyond the standard C-TPAT requirements. 3. DDTC Guidance on Transition of Japan Defense Agency to Ministry
The Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) has issued a guidance to exporters regarding the transition, effective January 9, 2007, of the "Japan Defense Agency (JDA)" to the "Ministry of Defense of Japan." The guidance provides information for exporters on the name change when submitting license amendments, agreement amendments, and new munitions license applications and new technical assistance and manufacturing license agreements.
