CBP Administrative Messages, Web Postings, Etc.

CBP has posted to its Web site a draft version of an update to the Customs and Trade Automated Interface Requirements (CATAIR) Appendix H (Census Warning Messages and Override Codes). This appendix provides a list of Census' warning messages, their description, resolution, and override code(s). CBP states that any decisions, policies, and solutions set forth in this draft technical document are subject to change at any time without prior notice. CBP adds that until such time that it issues a final version of this technical guide, the draft is not considered approved, endorsed, or sanctioned by CBP and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). 2. CBP Posts Surety Names/Codes

CBP has posted to its Web site a document which lists the surety names as listed in the Department of the Treasury's Listing of Approved Sureties (Department Circular 570), dated July 01, 2006. This list includes only those sureties where a CBP surety code has been assigned. CBP's document also provides information on how a surety can obtain a CBP surety code. 3. Snow Day Granted for Area Port of Seattle for December 15, 2006

CBP has issued an ABI administrative message announcing that due to inclement weather and widespread power outages, a snow day has been granted for all filers filing entries in the area port of Seattle for December 15, 2006. CBP is extending one additional day without penalty for the filing and payment of entry summaries due on that day. CBP has recently posted the following to its Web site:

CBP issues "blanket" authorization for immediate delivery procedures for 2006 year-end shipments. CBP has posted to its Web site a memo announcing that the Office of Trade Enforcement and Facilitation is issuing a "blanket" authorization for Immediate Delivery (I.D.) procedures for merchandise to be released on or after December 15, 2006 and until December 31, 2006, in accordance with 19 CFR 142.21(h). General Notes reference for international free trade agreements, special trade programs. CBP has posted to its Web site a General Notes reference which provides the General Notes for various international free trade agreements and special trade programs (e.g. AGOA, AFTA, GSP, JFTA, NAFTA, etc.). Four sections of ACE Welcome Package posted. CBP has recently posted to its Web site four sections to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Welcome Package. These four sections are: Information for New Accounts, Periodic Monthly Statement (PMS), Significant Activity Log Overview, and Manage People. Facts about ATS. CBP has posted to its Web site facts concerning the Automated Targeting System (ATS). CBP has released these facts in response to an Associated Press article claiming that the ATS' computerized risk assessments of international passengers may violate U.S. law.
