U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued an ABI administrative message outlining the changes to the Customs and Trade Automated Interface Requirements (CATAIR) document covered by Amendment 12 (October 2006), including changes made to entry summary, periodic daily statement, and Appendix P. CBP has recently posted the following to its Web site:
WHTI passport card technology choice: vicinity RFID fact sheet posted. CBP has posted to its Web site a fact sheet, issued by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), on the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) passport card technology choice: vicinity radio frequency identification (RFID). ATRI survey for motor carriers posted. CBP has posted to its Web site an American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) survey of motor carriers. CBP states that this survey is for all motor carriers crossing the northern and southern borders. The survey asks for motor carriers' input on several issues related to experiences with Truck e-Manifest as well as the impact on their operations of delays at the border. Los Angeles/Long Beach and Port Hueneme pleasure boat clearance procedures for 2006 posted.
