COAC to Meet on November 9, 2006 in New York

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a notice announcing that the next meeting of the Departmental Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of Customs and Border Protection and Related Homeland Security Functions (COAC) will be held on November 9, 2006 in New York, NY. (This committee was formerly known as the "Commercial Operations Advisory Committee.")

According to CBP, at the November 9, 2006 meeting, the following is a tentative agenda for the meeting:

  • Technology
  • Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT)
  • Container Security Initiative (CSI)
  • Collection of Additional Data Elements for Cargo Security
  • Office of Trade
  • Port Security Legislation

CBP states that since seating is limited, all persons attending this meeting should provide notice to Wanda Tate at (202) 344-1440 by close of business on November 2, 2006. In addition, comments may be submitted by November 2, 2006.
