1. Various Postings to CBP's Web Site
Registration now open for ACE Exchange II conference. CBP has issued an ABI administrative message announcing that registration is now open for the ACE Exchange II Conference that will be held October 30-November 2, 2006 in Tucson, Arizona. Qualifying for SENTRI program participation. CBP has posted to its Web site a press release regarding the admissions process and the denial of admissions to its Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection (SENTRI) program. CBP states that SENTRI applicants must voluntarily undergo a thorough biographical background check against criminal, law enforcement, customs, immigration, and terrorist indices; a 10-fingerprint law enforcement check; and a personal interview with a CBP Officer. CBP further states that applicants may not qualify for participation in the SENTRI program for multiple reasons, such as: they provide false or incomplete information on the application, they have been convicted of any criminal offense or have pending criminal charges to include outstanding warrants, etc. (CBP press release, dated 09/08/06, available at http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/newsroom/highlights/denied_entry_sentri_prg.xml)
