CBP has posted to its Web site a memorandum announcing that imports of ethyl alcohol from countries belonging to the U.S.-Dominican Republic-Central America Free Trade Agreement (DR-CAFTA), that previously had tariff rate quota (TRQ) benefits under the Caribbean Basin Economic Recovery Act (CBERA), may now be processed in the Automatic Broker Interface (ABI) system using the special program indicator (SPI) "P."

Previously, in order to claim the DR-CAFTA TRQ benefits, filers had to file entries as non-ABI and use the CBERA SPI of "E." CBP participates in APEC meeting in Vietnam, on counterfeit & pirated goods. CBP has issued a press release announcing that the CBP Assistant Commissioner of the Office of Strategic Trade, Daniel Baldwin, addressed the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting in Vietnam regarding CBP's efforts to fight the illegal importation of counterfeit and pirated goods. Baldwin, along with officials from APEC economies and the World Customs Organization (WCO), discussed ways to enhance customs and business partnerships to more effectively and efficiently fight against counterfeit and pirated goods.
