COAC to Meet on August 3, 2006

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a notice announcing that the next meeting of the Departmental Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of Customs and Border Protection and Related Homeland Security Functions (COAC) will be held on August 3, 2006 in Washington, DC. (This committee was formerly known as the "Commercial Operations Advisory Committee.")

According to CBP, at the August 3, 2006 meeting, COAC is expected to pursue the following agenda (partial list, subject to change):

  • Transportation Security Administration - User's Guide on Security Seals for Domestic Cargo
  • Advance Data Requirements
  • CBP Strategic Plan
  • Update on Homeland Security Presidential Directive 13 and National Maritime Security Advisory Committee
  • Trade Enforcement Initiatives
  • World Customs Organization (WCO) Framework
  • Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT)

CBP states that since seating is limited, all persons attending this meeting should provide notice to Wanda Tate at (202) 344-1440 by close of business on July 27, 2006. In addition, comments may be submitted by July 27, 2006.
