Low Duty" Mexico TPL (1) Filled on June 22, 2006

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the low-duty Tariff Preference Level (TPL) (1) for Mexico filled on June 22, 2006 at 8:36 a.m.

Mexico TPL (1), established under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), is the annual low-duty quota for cotton or man-made fiber apparel imported from Mexico as described in HTS Section XI, Additional U.S. Notes (AUSNs) 3(b), (d), and (e).

U.S. government sources have previously indicated that Mexico TPL (1) is not eligible to be increased.

Mexico TPL (2) filled on May 22, 2006. (See ITT's Online Archives or 06/01/06 news, 06060110, for BP summary.) According to Broker Power's June 23, 2006 quota status report, there are no other Mexico TPLs estimated to close early in 2005.
