CBP Reinstates the C-TPAT Online Application Process Via the C-TPAT Security Link Portal, Etc.

According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Web site, CBP is once again accepting online Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) applications, but now via the new C-TPAT Security Link Portal. Applications can be submitted for the following C-TPAT categories:

CBP Posts Instructions for C-TPAT Security Link Portal Online Application

CBP has also posted to its Web site a PowerPoint presentation which provides instructions for completing the C-TPAT Online Application through the C-TPAT Security Link Portal. According to CBP's instructions, the C-TPAT Application process consists of two parts:

Part 1:

Complete the company profile information

Read and agree to the terms of the C-TPAT Agreement to Voluntarily Participate

Save the submission

Wait for an e-mail confirming the submission and granting C-TPAT Security Link Portal access using a temporary password

Part 2:

Login to the C-TPAT Security Link Portal using the applicant's e-mail address and temporary password

Change the temporary password

Complete the structured Online Supply Chain Security Profile

Save the Security Profile submission

CBP notes that companies will have 60 days to complete their C-TPAT online application using the C-TPAT Security Link Portal.
