COAC to Meet on May 16, 2006

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued a notice announcing that the next meeting of the Departmental Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of Customs and Border Protection and Related Functions (COAC) will be held on May 16, 2006 in Washington, DC. (This committee was previously called the "Treasury Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of the U.S. Customs Service.")

According to DHS, at the May 16, 2006 meeting, COAC is expected to pursue the following agenda (partial list, subject to change):

  • World Customs Organization (WCO) "Security Framework" Implementation
  • Update on HSPD-13 (Homeland Security Presidential Directive-13) & National Maritime Security Advisory Committee
  • Update on Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP)
  • Security Subcommittee: C-TPAT
  • Green Lane Task Force
  • Textiles & Apparel Entry Processing
  • E-manifest for Trucks
  • Automated Commercial Environment (ACE)/International Trade Data Systems (ITDS)
  • Radiation Portal Monitoring
  • Staffing: Import Specialists
  • Pre-Entry Information

DHS states that since seating is limited, all persons attending this meeting should provide notice to Wanda Tate at (202) 344-1440 by close of business on May 11, 2006. In addition, comments may be submitted by May 15, 2006.
