CBP Announces February 2006 C-TPAT Enrollment Seminar in San Diego

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has posted a notice announcing that it will be holding its second Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) Enrollment Seminar for the Mexican and Canadian Highway Carrier and Manufacturing sectors of C-TPAT in San Diego, California on February 14 - 16, 2006.

According to a CBP set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), the enrollment seminars are free of charge and are focused on the Southern and Northern land-border segments of C-TPAT that are eligible to participate in the Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program.

The types of persons that may attend are: an authorized representative from a U.S. importer with a related party Mexican company; a Mexican manufacturer; a Mexican related party company of a U.S. C-TPAT importer; a highway carrier (northern and southern); or a Canadian manufacturer that received an invitation letter to join C-TPAT.

CBP states that the purpose of the seminars is to provide general information to the target audience contemplating joining C-TPAT; to provide information and to assist companies ready to join C-TPAT in the application process; to provide information and to assist Canadian manufacturers that have received letters of invitation; and to address and resolve any issues related to review of the application and/or the C-TPAT Security Profile.
