According to CBP, this seminar is entitled "Supply Chain Security in a New Business Environment" and will closely resemble CBP's first two C-TPAT seminars with a comprehensive look at security criteria and seven-point container inspections. The agenda will focus on the need to improve supply chain security in the new business environment by strengthening the Customs/Trade cooperative partnership. Joint Customs/Trade presentations, panel discussions and concurrent workshops will be conducted. The new C-TPAT security criteria for sea carriers and land border trucking, benefits validation process, container inspections, risk assessment, how to identify anomalies in the global supply chain, best practices, global terrorism threats, and contraband smuggling trends and concealment methods will also be discussed.
On-Line Seminar Registration for C-TPAT Members Begins January 5, 2006
CBP states that registration for this seminar will be conducted via an on-line registration process beginning on January 5, 2006. According to CBP, there will be no registration fee for this seminar; however, the seminar will be limited to 600 participants proportional with current C-TPAT membership levels. CBP states that attendees will be selected on a first come first serve basis and on certified C-TPAT membership status. "Certified" membership is defined as those companies that have already received letters welcoming them into the program. CBP also notes that attendance is limited to a maximum of 2 people per C-TPAT certified company. Members registering for this seminar must use the company name, not an ID number, submitted in the C-TPAT application. Deviations from the approved company name found in the C-TPAT database or names not associated with the membership name will not be accepted.
