CBP has announced that the 2006 tariff-rate quota (TRQ) on animal feed containing milk or milk derivatives as provided for in HTS Chapter 23, Additional U.S. Note (AUSN) 2 will open on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 12 noon E.S.T., or its equivalent in other time zones. The aggregate low-duty quantity is 7,399,700 kg and the below-listed countries have the following minimum access amounts:

2. 2006 TRQs on Olives Open January 3, 2006
CBP has announced the 2006 TRQs on olives as provided for in HTS Chapter 7, AUSN 5; Chapter 20, AUSN 4; and headings in HTS Chapter 20. According to CBP, these TRQs will open on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 12 noon E.S.T., or its equivalent in other time zones with the below-listed HTS numbers (for several types of olives that are green in color) having the following restraint levels:

3. CBP Posts Summary of AESTIR Changes for December 15, 2005
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has posted a summary of changes to the Automated Export System Trade Interface Requirements (AESTIR) on its Web site, indicating that Version 1.0 was changed or features were added or deleted on December 15, 2005 as follows:
Appendix B - Transportation Filing Response Messages. A Transportation Filing response message was added to Appendix B - Fatal Error 133 INVALID EXPORT INFORMATION CODE.
Appendix D - Export Port Codes. The following three new export port codes were added to Appendix D:

4. CBP Posts Fact Sheet on ACE Accomplishments

5. CBP's Customer Service Phones are Back in Service
CBP has posted to its Web site a notice announcing that it's Customer Service Center had been experiencing technical difficulties with its phone servers. However, CBP states that as of December 21, 2005 at 8:30 a.m., the phone system would be back in service. List of companies offering ACE electronic truck manifest data processing services. CBP's Office of Information Technology has posted a December 19, 2005 list of companies/persons who have developed software applications for ACE electronic truck manifest. All companies who are included on CBP's list have been through the CBP testing process. Although CBP has not added any new companies to this list, it has added a new email address for one of a company's listed contacts. First electronic truck manifest filed on southern border. CBP has issued a press release announcing that the southern border had its first electronic manifest (e-Manifest) for trucks filed on December 7, 2005 in Nogales, AZ.
