In a news article on the U.S.-China Textile Agreement, the Wall Street Journal reports that this Agreement will cap the year-over-year growth of the 34 clothing categories it covers to between 10% and 15% in 2006; between 12.5% and 16% in 2007; and between 15% and 17% in 2008. 2. EU Launches Third Round of Negotiations with Caribbean Region
The European Union (EU) has issued a press release announcing that the EU Trade Commissioner was to travel to St. Lucia at the end of September 2005 to launch the third phase of Economic Partnership Agreement negotiations between the EU and the Caribbean region. 3. U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board Meeting
The International Trade Administration (ITA) has issued a notice announcing that the U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board was scheduled to hold a meeting on December 1, 2005 in Washington, DC to discuss topics related to the travel and tourism industry. 4. Meeting of Labor Advisory Committee for Trade Negotiations and Policy
The Department of Labor has issued a notice announcing that the Labor Advisory Committee for Trade Negotiations and Trade Policy was scheduled to hold a meeting on November 29, 2005 in Washington, DC to review and discuss current issues that influence U.S. trade policy. 5. State Dept International Telecommunications Committee Meetings
The State Department has issued a public notice announcing that the U.S. International Telecommunication Advisory Committee (ITAC) was scheduled to hold meetings on October 19th and 20th, as well as on November 15, 2005. According to the State Department, the ITAC meetings were to discuss and contribute to ITU-T Study Groups 2 and 3.
