According to a Textile Development Memo issued by the U.S. Association of Importers of Textiles and Apparel (USA-ITA), CITA officials have advised that the U.S. will meet with China's negotiating team in Washington D.C. beginning Monday, October 31, 2005 for another round of formal negotiations aimed at reaching a bilateral textile agreement. 2. AMS Seeks Comments on Changing Definition of "Substantial Activity" Under Hass Avocado Order

The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) has issued an advance notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPR) which invites comments by December 20, 2005 from importers, producers, first handlers, and other interested persons on a possible change to the definition of "substantial activity" under the Hass Avocado Promotion, Research, and Information Order. AMS notes that the definition relates to the eligibility of importers to serve on the Hass Avocado Board.
