1. CBP Posts Revised Online C-TPAT Applications for U.S./Mexico Highway Carriers, U.S./Canada Highway Carriers, and Customs Brokers

Examples of the revisions to these online applications include (partial list):

the C-TPAT application qualifications for U.S./Canada and U.S./Mexico highway carriers no longer lists as a qualification the possession of a valid common carrier bond registered with CBP;

the description of the procedural security measures which must be implemented and maintained throughout the customs broker's supply chains has been amended to remove reference to the Positive Baggage Identification Match (PBIM) program and certain other details regarding checked baggage;

certain text in all three online applications has been slightly reformatted (e.g., to indent certain text, to use bullets to organize certain text, etc.)

2. List of Companies/Persons Offering ACE Electronic Truck Manifest Data Processing Services

U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP's) Office of Information and Technology has posted an updated notice to its Web site, dated 10/03/05, of companies/persons offering Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Electronic Truck Manifest data processing services to the trade community. The October 3, 2005 list includes the name, address, and contact information for the following data processing services:

4. CBP Posts Summary of AESTIR Changes for September - October 2005

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has posted a summary of changes to the Automated Export System Trade Interface Requirements (AESTIR) on its web site, indicating that Version 1.0 was changed or features added on September 16, 2005 and October 1, 2005 regarding (partial list, see summary of changes for all changes):

Correction of USPPI post departure. In Appendix A, which lists the commodity filing response messages, Response Code 076 has been changed to allow the USPPI to be corrected post-departure if necessary. However, a compliance alert will be generated when the USPPI information is changed post departure.

Non-standard data. In Appendix A, regarding commodity filing response messages, Response Code 997 for "Filing contains non-standard data" has been added.

Shipping weight for air shipments. In the Commodity Line Item Reporting section, the shipping weight for air shipments has been changed from 105,000 kilograms to 120,000 kilograms.
