CBP states that the first of more than 20 federal agencies involved in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) will gain access to the ACE Secure Data Portal in fall 2005. CBP states that the PGAs will be granted a "read-only" user role.

PGAs Obtaining Portal Access Include Census, EPA, FDA, Etc.

PGAs obtaining portal access will include those with entry or entry summary mandates, including:

U.S. Census Bureau (Census)

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF)

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

CBP states that users will be able to search and review trade account and reference information, as well as customize existing ACE reports.

Currently, PGAs receive such data via multiple systems, compact discs, or printed reports. Near real-time cargo entry and entry summary transactional information in ACE will allow for more convenient and flexible data collection and analysis.

CBP's August 2005 newsletter also includes articles on ACE periodic payment, ACE Truck Capability port expansion, etc.
