CBP Issues Updated List of ACE Accomplishments from 1999 - September 2005
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a document entitled: ACE Accomplishments: 1999 - September 2005, which lists, in date order, certain accomplishments in the development of the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE). According to CBP, this list is current as of September 22, 2005.

ACE-Related CBP Reorganization/National Targeting Center
July 1, 2005 - | The CBP Office of Information and Technology (OIT) reorganization takes effect. Functions within the Customs and Border Protection Modernization Office are streamlined and integrated into other OIT offices, including the newly created Cargo Management Systems Program Office and the Targeting Systems Office. |
March 28, 2005 - | Additional capabilities added to Targeting Framework prototype at the National Targeting Center (NTC). New features included: Cargo Sweep for Inbound, which provides a risk rating for cargo coming into the U.S. on ships; Cargo Sweep for Outbound, which provides a risk rating for cargo being exported out of the United States on ships. The prototype upgrade also consolidated all Microsoft Access databases into a central repository for viewing and analysis. |
July 27, 2004 - | Deployed Targeting Framework prototype to the National Targeting Center (NTC). The Targeting Framework is designed to capture and catalog large amounts of data from multiple sources not previously available to CBP, and then perform enhanced analysis to discover previously unknown relationships and linkages. |
Spring 2004 - | Started prototype tests of new border security technologies providing more comprehensive analysis tools to the National Targeting Center. |
