CBP Again Revises its Trade Update Regarding Hurricane Katrina

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has posted to its Web site a second revised version of its trade update regarding Hurricane Katrina.

Additional/Updated Information Contained in CBP's Latest Trade Update

This revised version reflects a number of changes, including the addition or update of the following information:

Mobile designated to receive entry-related items for Gulfport & Pascagoula. The Port of Mobile (Port code 1901) s now designated to receive entry-related items for the non-operational ports of Gulfport and Pascagoula, MS.

Use of port codes for closed ports. Port codes should not be used for closed ports of entry nor should another port code be substituted for the New Orleans port code 2002 when making entry. (BP is checking with CBP sources regarding the implications of these instructions.)

RLF entries for non-operational ports should not be transmitted. The trade should not transmit remote location filing (RLF) entries for non-operational ports.
