2. Canada Cattle Cross into U.S. for the First Time Since Border Closed
According to Washington Trade Daily, Canadian cattle crossed into the U.S. yesterday for the first time since officials closed the border more than two years ago amid fear of mad cow disease. In addition, The Wall Street Journal reports that this move represents the first decision by any country to allow cattle imports from a country not completely free of the disease. 3. State Dept Worldwide Business Visa Center Opened July 15, 2005
The State Department has issued a press release announcing that as of July 15, 2005, the U.S.-China Business Initiative, which began as a pilot program in January, will expand into a new Business Visa Center. 4. ITA's Travel and Tourism Promotion Advisory Board to Meet on August 1st
The International Trade Administration (ITA) has issued a notice announcing that its U.S. Travel and Tourism Promotion Advisory Board will hold an open meeting in Anaheim, CA on August 1, 2005. According to the ITA, the Board will discuss the results of a 2004/2005 international advertising and promotion campaign.
