CBP Reschedules its 5 th Annual Trade Symposium to January 13-14, 2005 ( from December 9-10, 2004 )
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a press release announcing that it has rescheduled its 5th annual trade symposium to January 13-14, 2005 (from December 9-10, 2004).

CBP states that it is making this change in order to ensure wider participation by government and the international trade and transportation community.
According to CBP, this year's theme is "Security and Facilitation of Trade: The Way Forward." The event will include discussions between senior CBP managers and representatives of the international trade and transportation community. Panels for the symposium will include a Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Border and Transportation Security (BTS) Executive roundtable, Trade Act of 2002 implementation, Bioterrorism Act of 2002, the Container Security Initiative (CSI), and the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).
The trade symposium, which will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC, will open with a pre-registration reception on the evening of January 12, 2005, followed by a day and a half of events beginning January 13, 2005.

CBP states that registration for the symposium will open on November 1, 2004, and must be made online at www.cbp.gov. The registration fee is $150.
